Platform Comparison

Devfood vs Zyda

Zyda is built for the region — Arabic-first, social-commerce ordering, a courier network with local names, a call centre — and prices the branded app as an unquoted add-on on top of a dollar subscription. Devfood prices in dirhams, includes the branded apps and the driver app in that price, and treats the register, kitchen screen and kiosk as add-ons you can see the shape of before you ask.

What Zyda is

Zyda is a commission-free ordering platform for restaurants in the GCC, Egypt and Jordan. Its Ordering product opens a restaurant on the web, on social media (an Instagram "Order Food" button, Facebook and Instagram shops) and on mobile; Verd manages delivery through a network of regional couriers and your own drivers; Ring is a cloud call centre that turns phone orders into digital ones. Pricing is two plans in US dollars — Starter at $85 a month billed annually for one branch, Growth at $135 a month for up to three — with branded iOS and Android apps as an add-on priced by sales, an Arabic and English interface, and no setup fee.

How this page is written

Every Zyda cell below states only what Zyda publishes on its own website — no review-site figures, no analyst numbers. Where they publish nothing, the cell says not published rather than claiming the feature is missing. The pages we read and the date we read them are at the bottom, so you can check any row yourself in one click.

Their Case

When Zyda Is the Better Choice

We would rather you buy the right thing than buy ours. These are the cases where that is not us.

You want regional couriers with local names

Verd Network connects to delivery companies Zyda names for the GCC and Egypt — Verdi, Wiyak, Armada, Do Deliver, Brax — on success-based per-delivery pricing, plus dispatch for your own drivers. Devfood’s networks are DoorDash Drive, Uber Direct, Shipday and Nash; where those do not run, Zyda’s list is the one that matters.

Your orders come from Instagram and the phone

Zyda sells an Instagram "Order Food" button, Facebook and Instagram shops, and Ring — a cloud call centre with shared, food-trained agents that turns phone orders into digital ones. Devfood has no call-centre product and no social-shop integration; it builds the app and the web storefront.

You want no setup fee and a 48-hour launch

Zyda publishes "no setup fees" and "full setup in 48 hours", with on-site onboarding on Growth. Devfood charges a one-time setup fee on monthly billing (included on annual plans).

Our Case

When Devfood Is the Better Choice

You want the branded apps in the price, not on a sales call

Zyda lists branded iOS and Android apps as an add-on with no published price. Devfood includes them on every plan — AED 291 a month for one to three locations in the UAE, published on /pricing.

You want to pay in your own currency

Zyda prices in US dollars and excludes tax. Devfood publishes a dirham price for the UAE and a per-market price in eight other currencies, set against each market’s own category leader rather than converted from the US figure.

You have more than three branches, or a kitchen that needs a screen

Zyda’s Growth plan covers up to three branches; above that is Enterprise, on request. Devfood is a per-location ladder that falls at four and at ten locations, and the kitchen display, kiosk and register are on the same menu as optional add-ons rather than left unpublished.

Questions

Devfood vs Zyda FAQ

Is Zyda really commission-free?

Yes, on its own statement: "Zyda doesn’t take any commission, no hidden fees, no setup fees." What you do pay is the gateway — Zyda publishes Tap at 1% for KNET and 2.5% for Visa or Mastercard and Paymob at 2.5% + EGP 2.5 — and, if you use Verd Network couriers, a per-delivery fee deducted from the order that varies by plan. Devfood likewise takes no commission; you connect your own processor.

How much are Zyda’s branded apps?

Zyda does not publish it. Both plans list "Branded iOS and Android apps" under add-ons with a "Talk to Sales" button. Devfood includes the branded apps in every plan.

Does Devfood work in Arabic?

Yes — multi-language storefronts are included, so the menu, checkout and notifications can run in Arabic and English. Zyda’s site and dashboard are offered in Arabic and English too; on language the two are a tie.
